Lot Photo Description Realized
Lot 1197
1886, $1 Silver Certificate. PCGS Extremely Fine 40PPQ. Fr-219. . KL-33. Large brown seal Marthas have tremendous appeal as a design, and when the colors and inks remain as bold as on this note the aesthetic element is ideally enhanced. A few moderate storage folds are present, but none is distracting and the paper retains full freshness, originality, and vibrancy.
Estimated Value $550 - 750.

Lot 1198
1896, $1 Silver Certificate. PCGS Very Choice New 64PPQ. Fr-224. . KL-38. The Educational series Silver Certificates from 1896 have long been considered the zenith of American currency engraving art. This Ace is boldly embossed, fully original, and displays flawless surfaces. It is the "A" plate position note, and as the top note in the sheet it has extra border at the top that deceives the viewer's centering perception as the bottom margins are quite ample. A beautiful near-Gem that will likely likely see spirited bidding.
Estimated Value $2,250 - 2,750.

Lot 1202
1899, $2 Silver Certificate. PCGS About New 50. Fr-256. . KL-137. The colors, centering, margins, and eye appeal of this Agricultural series Deuce far surpass that of the assigned grade. Although a couple of light folds are present and limit the technical numerical grade to About New, the "look" of the note is far better. A pleasing example that is worth a second look.
Estimated Value $600 - 800.

Lot 1203
1880, $10 Silver Certificate. PCGS Very Fine 30. Fr-289. . KL-414. This lovely, well margined "Black Back" Silver Certificate has beautiful colors, bold inks, and tremendous eye appeal for the grade. It has the "look" of an XF or even better, although some well-concealed vertical folds limit the technical grade. This is a scarce type in any grade, and nice circulated examples are particularly difficult to locate in this market. Extremely Fine.
Estimated Value $4,500 - 5,500.

1908, $10 Silver Certificate. PMG Extremely Fine 40. Fr-303. . KL-428. The "Tombstone" note features a portrait of Vice President Thomas Hendricks surrounded by a frame that resembles this note's moniker.
