Lot 752
1889. NGC graded MS-67. Well struck and very frosty with lovely rainbow toning on both sides. Rare low mintage date as a mere 12,000 were struck. The smooth satin fields rippling with cartwheel luster. The raised relief designs stand out nicely against this finish. No spotting, just silver-white color peeking out from below the iridescent color. A great deal of discussion also surrounds a coin's strike. This has excellent detail with no sign of weakness to the body of Liberty, her shield, and similar crisp detail on the eagle with its shield. An immaculate specimen. Pop 25; 3 in 68.
Estimated Value $4,000 - 4,500.
