De Bouthillier, Guy (1893-1962) Born in Paris, Guy was the son of Marquis Charles DeBouthillier-Chavigny, a minister of France. He studied painting with Claude Monet for three years and for two years with Picasso and Sargent. By 1932 he had moved to Glendale, CA. He died there on March 14, 1962. Primarily a watercolorist.

Original watercolor on paper. Boats at rest. Signed lower left corner. Size 21" x 14½", matted and framed to an overall size of 31½" x 25½" under plexiglass.

Warhol, Andy. Marilyn Monroe's Lips. Signed reproduction of Warhol's famous 1964 piece., 5½ x 8 in., printed by Museum Press, Inc., Washington, D.C. Warhol (1928-1987) signed in black marker across the top. The original was acrylic and silksceen enamel. In the 1960s, Warhol began making paintings of iconic products such as Campbell's Soup and Coca-Cola and of celebrities such as Marilyn Monroe and Elvis Presley. Using the silkscreen method, he made prints from these paintings and they became very popular.

Lot of nine different limited edition prints (most in editions of less than 1000) by noted artists such as Maynard Reese, LeBlanc, McDonald, Gromme, Gillies, Christie, etc. Each is professionally matted and framed in mostly large, wooden frames. An ideal lot for when you redecorate your hunding lodge. There are some great dog and bird prints here for the true afficionado. Most are in excellent condition.

Frost, Arthur Burdett (1851-1928) Early American illustrator and painter. Well known for his dynamic representation of motion and sequence. Frost is considered one of the great illustrators in the "Golden Age of American Illustration." Frost illustrated over 90 books, and produced hundreds of paintings; in addition to his work in illustrations, he is renowned for realistic hunting and shooting prints.

Chromo lithograph, approximately 20" x 12½", matted and framed to an overall size of 29½" x 24". Archivally framed with UV plexiglass and burel wood. Bird hunting with Irish Setters in the woods. Superb condition.

Buffon, Georges Louis Leclerc, Comte de. Engravings from Histoire naturelle, générale et particulière. (1707-1788) Naturalist, mathematician, biologist, cosmologist, and author. Lot of over 135 plates, each with hand-colored engravings top and bottom, from Buffon's 44 volume encyclopedia describing everything known about the natural world. These engraving are of animals only; no flora is in this lot. Names are in French. Plates are loose. Included is the frontispiece (ragged around edges) and an engraving of Buffon from the book. Plates are lightly toned, else fine.

Chagall, Marc. The Jerusalem Windows. First edition in English, New York: George Braziller, 1962. Text and notes by Jean Leymarie. Folio. Original red cloth; original pictorial dust jacket with wear to edges and a one-inch tear at lower edge. Beautifully illustrated with 104 plates (64 in full color), and two original color lithographs created expressly for this edition. Former owner's bookplate on front pastedown; small label from Aberdeen Book Company on back pastedown.

Chagall created twelve stained glass windows, one for each of the twelve tribes of Israel, for the Hadassah-Hebrew University Medical Center Synagogue in Jerusalem. Jerusalem Windows illustrates and chronicles the creation of those famous windows.
