Pang Chung Huang. Misty Mountain and Home - Chinese Scroll Painting. Late Ching Dynasty, probably mid-1800s. The scroll is 86 x 34¾ in. Image size is 54¾ x 28¾ in. A poem in Chinese describes the scene: "The beautiful mansion in the forest mountain refreshes and rejuvenates men. Deer and cranes in the surrounding woods give warm spring air to men's souls even in the chill of autumn air. The sound of a flute sifting through the autumn fog brings tranquility and harmony to all living things." The painting was purchased from Charlotte Horstmann & Gerald Godfrey Ltd. in Hong Kong. Fine condition and ready to hang.

Charles Hayter. R. Henshaw. Painting on ivory by British artist Charles Hayter (1761-1835), c. 1790. Identified as R. Henshaw, grandfather to Chas. Hinton Moore. Original oval copper case is 67.5 x 55.7mm, with glass on both sides, a lock of hair being displayed on the back side; ring at top for hanging. Comes with a small display stand. Hayter was known for painting miniatures of officers and their families.
