Shuttle Program, c1970, Shuttle "Discovery" Model (11x5") This classic model by HAPCO Models and Displays of Huntsville, AL (who was a model subcontractor to the NASA "Huntsville Engineering and Model Shop"). The model is mounted on a rectangular wooden base (7x5"). The bottom of the base has a HAPCO label taped to it along with a "B. J. Funderburk/Marshall" handwritten owner's marking. A scarce early model in excellent condition.

The patches of the Space Test Program/Pathfinder for DoD Space Systems and STS-41B are pictured at the top of the presentation shee,t as is the name of the presentation recipient. STS-51B, 1985, NASA "Group Achievement Awards" (14x11") Lot of three different including (1)a 1973 Award on parchment-like paper presented to the Skylab Real-Time Planning Team issued to the team that developed new flight plans to correct the anomalies that occurred after the launch of the Skylab orbital workshop (2) a 1974 Award presented to the Lyndon Johnson Space Center in recognition of the outstanding efforts and service of its employees in support of the Skylab program and (3) a 1986 Award printed on Kodak paper that was awarded in recognition of the 10 years of preparation work the team put in working on the Spacelab 3 mission. A great group of Awards with some minor faults.

This limited edition lithograph (No. AP12/100) is hand dated "2/15/89" and hand inscribed: "Presented to Robert Anderson in appreciation from the Challenger's family members - In memory of all seven, Laurie." STS-86, 1997, FLOWN Tomato Seeds. An interesting lot that includes three different packets of tomato seeds. One packet contains seeds FLOWN onboard the flight (weightless conditions), one packet contains a control group of seed kept on earth as a control group (earth gravity) and another packet contains seeds harvested from plants grown at the Scott Carpenter UNDERWATER NASA facility 30 feet below the surface at Key Largo, FL (1.6x gravity). The SEED II program was done to test the effects of different growing conditions on plants. ALSO included with the seed packs are Educator materials to enable teachers to use these seeds as part of a diversified Life Sciences teaching program. These materials are not scarce, but are a great addition to any collection.

The label reads, in part: "This Hitchhiker patch accompanied the LHP/NASBE payload and orbited the Earth 52 times on Space Shuttle 87…" A copy of the NASA inventory of the Offical Flight Kit (OFK) is incluided.
