Pre Columbian Gold Ear Ornaments. Weave design. Interestingly, we note a similarity with jewelry of the Byzantine period! Cast gold, made by the false filigree process with wax, wire, and probably made in a single operation. Possibly Sinu, Cordoba (Colombia). Length: 85 mm. Weight: 45.2 gr. 20+ kt gold. For a similar, nose ornament, see Sweat of the Sun, Tears of the Moon - Gold Treasures of Colombia, Natural History Museum of Los Angeles County, plate 21 (1981).

Includes Egyptian alabaster egg and bowl; Egyptian bronze sistrum (origin uncertain); Egyptian glass bracelets and mummy bead necklace with scarab; Roman glass tear vials (2); Pair of fossilized shark teeth; Judean terracotta oil lamps, etc. We take special note of: Tanagra, 330-200 B.C. Hellenistic period painted terracotta standing female of fashion wrapped in a himitation. Height 7", intact. An interesting assortment of antiquities. SOLD AS IS.
