Lot 338		Empire Strikes Back (1980) Signed Original Half Sheet. 22 x 28 in. Style A, also known as the "Gone with the Wind" version. This highly desirable edition features gorgeous artwork by Roger Kastrel and was only in theaters for a limited time before being pulled and reissued with additional elements. It is very rare to find an original of this version as a proliferation of fake reprints were released in the 1990's. Adding to its value, this example is also signed by director Irvin Kershner, producer Gary Kurtz, and screenwriter Lawrence Kasdan. Faint foxing and minor crease in lower L corner, else very fine. Jack Nicholson wrote the original screenplay, a low-budget cult film directed by Roger Corman which starred Peter Fonda & Dennis Hopper, The Trip was shot on location in and around Los Angeles, including on top of Kirkwood in Laurel Canyon, Hollywood Hills, and near Big Sur, California in 1966. 40 x 27 in. Considered by many to be the most beautifully designed poster for the original film, this example features sweeping artwork by Tom Jung who masterfully blends evocative imagery of the film's beloved characters and memorable scenes to capture the full spirit of the legendary epic. Framed and signed in the upper left margin by producer Gary Kurtz. A few minor spots and light wear near edges, else very fine. A must-have for serious collectors! Estimated Value $1,000 - 1,500. Lot 342		Wizards (1977) & Lord of the Rings (1978) - Promotionals. This collection features an original 14 x 36 in. insert movie poster for Ralph Bakshi's animated sci-fi fantasy "Wizards", a set of eight individually framed 11 x 14 in. lobby cards for Bakshi's 1978 animated feature "Lord of the Rings", based on J.R.R. Tolkien's renowned fantasy series, and an original 22 x 28 in. half sheet for the latter film. Both posters are in near mint condition with only faint toning. The lobby cards depict different characters and scenes from the film and are all under glass, except one. A must for any fan of Tolkien or Bakshi's work. Estimated Value $250 - 350.
