Lot 2674
1934, $5 Federal Reserve Note. DGS Mule Star Note. PCGS Currency Fine 15. . Fr-1956-J. This new discovery is only the third reported example of this rare star Mule with the dark green seal. It falls about midway between the other two known serial numbers, and is evenly circulated with a little soiling that is commensurate with the assigned grade. This is a difficult note to estimate, as the Lindquist & Schwartz value is likely very conservative in the extreme, but given its rarity and the current interest in Small Size Fed varieties we could see this piece surpass even our estimate.
Estimated Value $1,000 - 1,500.

Lot 2700
1928, $50 Federal Reserve Note. CGA Choice Uncirculated 64. . Fr-2100-I. This Minneapolis Fifty is from a rare district that is seldom seen at any grade level. There were only 106,200 pieces originally printed, and surviving examples simply aren't available this nice. 1934, $500 Federal Reserve Note. PCGS Currency Superb Gem New 68PPQ. . Fr-2201-A. Only four $500s from all series and districts combined have received this lofty grade from PCGS Currency, with none finer to date. Apparently all are from a small run from the Boston district, as all are 1934 series notes from here. This one is strictly original, with letter perfect centering and bold embossing that is visible through the holder. If you want the best, this is it for this denomination--it's truly as nice as they come.

1934-C, $500 Federal Reserve Note Specimen. PCGS Currency Gem New 65PPQ. . Fr-2204-L. This Specimen note, which is unique to our knowledge, is essentially two specimen printings, a face and a back, mounted together on cardstock. It is the only example that we have ever seen, and the only like it graded by PCGS Currency. As no issued series 1934C $1,000 Federal Reserve Notes are known, this specimen remains the only opportunity for collectors to own this series. If rarity is any guide, expect this piece to easily reach or exceed our likely conservative estimate.

1928, $1000 Federal Reserve Note. PCGS Currency Very Fine 25. . Fr-2210-A. The Boston district is the key to the regular issue notes for this series and is missing from most advanced high denomination collections. The new Schwartz and Lindquist catalogue values this note at $30,000 in Very Fine, a valuation which seems reasonable considering the rarity of this district.
