United States. Massachusetts. Pine Tree Shilling, 1652. NGC graded MS-65. Large Planchet. Noe 1; Crosby 12-I. 72.2 gns. R-2. Pine tree on base, two pellets flanking; MASATHVSETS.IN. Reverse: At center, 1652 / XII; around, NEWENGLAND:AN:DOM. (As Noe noted, the colon punctuation is unusual and diagnostic.) Even, full strike on very generous flan. Medium gray toning with gold underneath, and occasional hints of blue. Among the finest known specimens.

United States. Continental Currency - "Pewter" (Tin) "CURENCY," Dollar, 1776. NGC graded MS-63. Breen 1089; Newman 1-C. Sun with face shining down on sundial, below, "MIND YOUR BUSINESS," at left, FUGIO. Reverse: A chain of thirteen joined links, each bearing a name of a colony; at center, nimbate motto: WE ARE ONE, AMERICA CONGRESS around. Fine, clean strike. The devices toned, while the lustrous fields remain quite bright. Very Rare. One of the most desirable and historic of all colonial issues!

United States. Dollar, 1802. NGC graded MS-63. Narrow date. B-6 (R-1); BB-241; URS-12. 26.85 grams. Draped bust of Liberty right. Reverse: Heraldic eagle with shield at breast, stars above. Bold, even strike, with nearly full hair for Liberty, and on the eagle, a tack sharp shield and virtually complete feathers. Fields lustrous and very clean. Finely toned - running from warm to cool colors, with the blues and violets dominating. A choice and wholly original dollar.

United States. Trade Dollar, 1876. NGC graded MS-64. 27.11 grams. Liberty seated left on hay bail, holding branch; wheat at back, ocean at feet. Reverse: Heraldic eagle; weight and fineness below. Good strike, with only slight weakness at Liberty's hair and left breast, and usual flatness to one of eagle's legs. Lustrous and very clean. Attractive multi-colored smokey toning, with intense coloring around the obverse edges.

United States. Gold 10 Dollars, 1795. NGC graded MS-60. Taraszka 5; Breen 4-B. 17.40 grams. Capped bust, small eagle type; Thirteen Leaves varity. Draped bust of Liberty right, with high cap. Reverse: Eagle on branch, wreath in beak. Remarkably bold strike, with neglible flatness in the centers; a little in the hair, and mainly at the eagle's neck, plus some weakness at the dentils above Liberty and below the eagle. Very minor adjustment marks noted mostly on the reverse periphery, at 5 and 4 o'clock. Minimal marks, with strong luster throughout.

The largest denomination at the time, the Gold Eagle, is considered the first United States gold coin.

Reverse: Heraldic eagle with shield at breast, stars above. Fine, bold strike, with only slight softness at Liberty's shoulder, and only one star above the eagle a bit weak. Just a hint or two of adjustment marks. With appealing luster and toning.
