Lot 588
Space Autographs, Alan Shepard & "Bobbie" Slayton Autographs. On a book plate inside the front cover of his, and Deke's, book "Moon Shot" (1994, First Edition, 383pp., hard with dust jacket). The plate is also signed by co-authors Jay Barbarree and Howard Benedict. This would appear to be an author's edition as it still has trim markings on the edges of the pages. Bobbie Slayton is Deke's widow. She signed the book plate as he had already passed on by the time the book was published. ALSO a magnetic door sign, hand signed by Deke Slayton in crayon (?). This appears to have actually been used by him, probably after he left NASA - where they would have printed him a door nameplate if he had needed one. Excellent condition.
Estimated Value $150 - 250.
Ex. the Donald "Deke" Slayton Estate collection.
