1870 Half Dollar Octagonal Liberty Head. . BG-921, Low Rarity 5. PCGS graded MS-64. Nice prooflike surfaces with some die cracks noted between a couple of the stars. The denomination within a wreath is spelled HALF DOLLAR with the date below and a five-pointed star above. Scarce in all grades, especially so in this outstanding condition! Pop 1; none finer at PCGS (PCGS # 10779) .

Light friction on the high points of the hair and portrait; deep brownish gold toning in the fields. A scarcer denomination, with Round Dollars the most actively sought denomination in the series.
