Lot 1756
1937 Antietam Half Dollar. PCGS graded MS-67. Despite a few ticks on the obverse, hidden in the color, this coin has a stunning appearance. Both sides are similarly bathed in shimmering, bright golden iridescent toning over top of original, gleaming silvery luster. Truly beautiful and one of the finest to be had.

Lot 1757
1938 Arkansas Half Dollar. NGC graded MS-67. This superb coin has the usual pale silvery luster endemic in this issue, with touches of bright gold on the rims. We can't find anything but the tiniest of ticks, meaning that the surfaces are just terrific.

1936 Bay Bridge Half Dollar. NGC graded MS-67. Superb surfaces and blazing luster throughout, without toning to hide non-existent tick marks. A real winner.

Lot 1760
1935 Boone Half Dollar. PCGS graded MS-67. Ole Dan'l looks really fine on this delightful Gem. No marks. Mostly the color is a wonderful silvery white, and some bright golden iridescent toning shimmers around the rims and into the field before Boone's face. A few dots of green may be found in the center of the reverse.

Lot 1761
1936 Boone Half Dollar. NGC graded MS-67. The booming silver luster just took the cataloguer's breath away. No exaggeration. You will see some small abrasions on Daniel's cheekbones, jaw and hair, but these are overwhelmed by the luster and by the splendid band of intensely bright golden amber and deep blue iridescence on the peripheries (more of it on the reverse).

Lot 1764
1893 Columbian Half Dollar. PCGS graded MS-64. A real choice coin with a lot of eye appeal. Strong luster and totally original: dark golds to light silvery iridescence. If you don't like this, you don't know what "original" means.

Lot 1765
Gem Grant With Star. PCGS graded MS-65. Brilliant with all the usual die-polishing lines, slight flatness on Grant's hair above his ear, as so often seen, but very few contact marks. Rare so nice. One of the toughest commemoratives to find in full gem condition.

Lot 1766
1928 Hawaiian Half Dollar. NGC graded MS-66. Some small marks and even a chattermark or two don't detract much from this beautiful coin. Its surfaces are fully original and exhibit the bright silvery luster and pale-lime color so typical of this issue. Nobody will dislike this one.

Lot 1767
1928 Hawaiian Half Dollar. PCGS graded MS-64. Despite a mark on Captain Cook's face and a scuff before his schnozzle, this is a Choice coin which seems appropriately graded by the experts. It also has the familiar toning gotten from the holders these were distributed in--pale lime-yellow iridescence mixed with lilac. A nice one.

Lot 1768
1935 Hudson Half Dollar. NGC graded MS-66. Lots of flash beneath original light silvery gold iridescent toning, with some haze on the sails. A few light bagmarks and a small mark on the whale by Neptune's knee, but a Gem coin and fairly rare so nice.

1935 Hudson Half Dollar. NGC graded MS-66. Brilliant and a must-see example of the rare Hudson half dollar. The slab is broken at the corner; the coin should be reholdered.

1924 Huguenot-Walloon Half Dollar. NGC graded MS-67. Tawny golden iridescent gray toning with brighter gold patches at the peripheries. Some tiny abrasions beneath the appealing color.

Lot 1771
1936 Lynchburg Half Dollar. NGC graded MS-67. Tiny ticks in the design and a kind of gouge on Liberty's right leg (our left, her right) mean this coin is not perfect, but it truly is spectacular in quality. The gleaming silvery surfaces exhibit the colors of the rainbow, all in delicate hues of pinkish lavender and lime-green gold. Oh, man, is this ever gorgeous!

Lot 1772
1936 Lynchburg Half Dollar. PCGS graded MS-66. This coin deserves a 66 and to be labeled Superb. Some minor ticks only. Most pleasing, pale golden lilac iridescent toning, evenly distributed on both sides. A delight!

1921 Missouri Half Dollar, no 2 x 4. NGC graded MS-64. Silvery bright with nothing untoward to report. In fact, it's only the vague dipped look that probably kept this out of a 65 slab.

1936 Norfolk Half Dollar. NGC graded MS-68. Perfect surfaces. The aluminum-foil silver color underlies an iridescent amber-gold toning that splashes all over both sides, creating a visual feast. If you like these, you will never improve on this one, we don't imagine.

Lot 1779
1937-D Oregon Trail Half Dollar. NGC graded MS-67. Oh, wow! Here's a true jewel of a coin. Flawless surfaces, a microscopic tick or two (only in the frost), gorgeous "aluminum foil" silver luster with patches of dark amber iridescent toning around the obverse periphery, and speckling the entire reverse. Truly superb.

1935-S San Diego Half Dollar. NGC graded MS-67. An absolutely splendid coin with the finest kind of iridescent toning: sparkling light to amber gold, some blues and greens flashing like neon signs, and beneath it all perfectly original silvery luster. That's enough. You just can't find much better or prettier than this!
