Fr-2404*. 1928, $50 Gold Certificate. . Fr-2404*. . KL-2525*. PCGS Very Fine 20. $50 Gold star notes are not common in any grade, and the Brooklyn Collection holds three impressive examples that we offer here. This one has some light to moderate soiling but is technically the finest of the three, with solid paper for the grade. The opportunity to bid on three mid-grade examples of this scarce star Gold note doesn't happen every day, and collectors are encouraged to bid liberally in order to add one (or more) to their collections.
Estimated Value $4,000 - 5,000.

Fr-2404. 1928, $50 Gold Certificate. . Fr-2404. . KL-2525. PCGS Gem New 65PPQ. True Gem quality $50 Gold notes are in short supply, and whenever one appears at auction the bidding is highly competitive. This splendid example possesses even margins, great colors, and terrific originality. One of the highlights of the Brooklyn Collection in terms of technical quality, and certain to challenge or even well exceed our likely conservative estimate.

Fr-2404. 1928, $50 Gold Certificate. . Fr-2404. . KL-2525. PCGS Very Fine 35. Still an attractive Gold Fifty, and likely to be popular among collectors of mid-grade circulated small size gold notes.

Fr-2405*. 1928, $100 Gold Certificate. . Fr-2405*. . KL-2747*. PCGS Apparent Very Fine 20, Stain on Back. Star Note $100 Gold Certificates are rare in any grade, and nice Vfs are few and far between. This one has a light vertical stain on the back that looks like it was caused by a rubber band; if this is the case it might be a candidate for some careful conservation. In any case, this is a rare note that should be popular with collectors and dealers alike.
Estimated Value $5,000 - 7,000.
