Lot 620
(Rogers, Will) (1879-1935) "Indian Cowboy," wit, columnist, and most popular male actor in Hollywood. An 18"x14" leather and gilt-edge memorial album (loosening at spine) put together by an unidentified admirer or possibly a family member, and containing 31 items, primarily photos representing Rogers' life (a couple of photos are of cartoons featuring Rogers); It begins with a photo of the home where Rogers was born in Indian Territory and of Rogers as a young boy. It includes composites of Rogers doing rope tricks and roping cows, formal portraits of Rogers and his wife, family photos, the Rogers house (inside and out) in Pacific Palisades, and Rogers in numerous poses, both active and pensive. It concludes with images of Rogers and aviator Wiley Post and the plane in which they died together.

von Furstenberg, Countess Betsy. 10"x8" photograph of the socialite countess, taken in 1951 by photographer Joseph Jasgur whose stamp is on the back, with the information that the photo was taken at Ocean House in Santa Monica. From Jasgur's Socialite Collection. The countess appeared on the cover of Life Magazine on Jan. 29, 1951. Proceeds from the sale of this photo will go to the American Red Cross Victims' Relief Fund for Hurricane Katrina.

(Wayne, John). One hundred slides of John Wayne on an unidentified movie set, possibly from his last movie, The Shootist (1976). Some slides show him on horseback, some are head shots, and some show him with crew members. Some of the slides are stamped "Nov77" and some "Aug78"; some have no date. Fine condition; housed in a metal case.

Film Strip Souvenir With 57 Stars From 1933. Film strip contained in a 2"x1½" white glass container with the label: "Souvenir / Twenty-fifth Annual Governor's Conference, Metro-Goldwyn-Mayer Studios…July 28th, 1933." Fine condition. In addition to the 57 stars, such as Jean Harlow, Greta Garbo, etc., two studio heads are pictured. A neat memento.
