Lot 190
1863, $20 United States Note. Fr-126b. Finest known. Pop 1. Just plain rare in this remarkable quality, a note of distinction, and one destined for a collection of museum-class paper money. There were three issues of Legal Tender "greenbacks" of the Civil War period. This is the Third Issue. These notes are dated March 10, 1863 and were issued in all denominations from 5 to 1,000 Dollars. The obligations, both obverse and reverse, are the same as on the notes of the Second Obligation of the First Issue and all are very scarce to out-and-out rare in New condition. Gem New notes are the premier quality and stand at the forefront or American paper money rarities. PCGS graded Gem Uncirculated 65PPQ.
Estimated Value $14,000 - 20,000.

Lot 192
1880, $20 United States Note. Fr-141. Stained and discolored at center, but not at all uninviting, given this note's prominent devices. The portrait of Alexander Hamilton was engraved by Charles Burt. Liberty sketched by John W. Casilear. PCGS graded Apparent Fine 15.
Estimated Value $200 - 300.

Lot 193
1880, $20 United States Note. Fr-147. Whereas the $1 and $2 are series 1917 with this format (small red seal, red serial numbers), and the $5 woodchopper is series 1907, the $10 bison series 1901, the $20 remains as series 1880 even though this Elliot-White signature combination was used in the 1920s. Series dating on U.S. currency is really a head-scratcher! PCGS graded Very Fine 20.
Estimated Value $400 - 500.
