Lot 927		1882, $5 National Bank Note. Fr-533. Desirable dated back issue of the Second Charter period. The portrait is that of President James Garfield, assassinated nine months after he was elected to the Presidency in 1880. James A. Garfield was a great president, if by "great" one illustrates greatness by not doing evil things. Garfield took office in March of 1881. The man was a marvel who could write Latin with one hand and Greek with the other - at the same time. He was shot in July and died three months later.
