1882, $20 National Bank Note. Fr-496. Nice signatures and decent preservation, with the lower margin the closest of the four. Some of these Second Charter issues have the bank's charter number imprinted only once on the front, while others have it two times. The brown backs came before the denomination and dated backs of this Charter. Each state issue has the reverse with the charter number and surrounding ornament green, the rest of the reverse in brown, with the individual state's Seal at the left and a bald vignette on the right-hand side. Of 12 large size known of all types, this is the first $20 brown back and is a scarce type from the State of Georgia. PCGS graded Fine 12.

1902, $5 National Bank Note. Fr-593. Second title. This bank, the forerunner to the Continental Illinois NB which blew up with a mighty blast in 1981 during the sharp, deep recession of 1980-81. Later it was found this bank held over one million mostly 1881-S Mint State silver dollars in its vaults! Perhaps these were in storage at the time this dated back Third Charter five was put into circulation. PCGS graded Fine 12.
