Philisto-Arabian. Gaza. 4th century BC. AR Drachm (4.02 g). . Hen-422. Rare. Archaistic bearded male head right. Reverse: Forepart of running horse right, two letters for "aza" above right, all within square beaded border. SNG ANS 35; Hendin 422; BMC p. 178, 14. Nicely centered on a flan of especially good metal. Some ancient scratches on the cheek. Choice Very Fine.

Facade of Temple, Ark within; Hebrew inscription around ("Jerusalem"). Reverse: Lulav with etrog to left; Hebrew inscription around ("Year 2 of the freedom of Israel"). Hendin 686; Mild. 7 (O1/R6), this an early emission, since the die break referenced as starting with example 3 not apparent here. A few areas of weakness, but overall the strike bold. Some spots of porosity here and there, but metal generally quite good, with much residual luster. Extremely Fine.
