Lot 1077		Judaica. A Hazorfim Candy Bowl in .800 Silver. Israel, c. 1950's. Open work basket or bowl, with fence-like slats supporting four elaborate shields or cartouches, all connected or framed by floral swags. Bowl's center with a street view of old Jerusalem, perhaps Temple Mount, modeled in relief. Above, in Hebrew, "Jerusalem." The dish shows modest but loving use. Marked with three stamps: a semi-circle with 31(?); a rectangle with 800; and lastly, the firm's name. Width: 6-1/2". The silverware products of Beit Hazorfim have been noted for their originality and quality, since 1952. They are one of Israel's largest manufacturing studios of traditional, contempory, and religious silverware. Their earliest wares remain difficult to find. Estimated Value $100 - 200. Lot 1078		Sterling Coffee Server and Creamer, by "Maciel." Mexico, c. 1950's - 60's. Neatly crafted, both items of urnlike shape, with fluted walls and feet. Also on each, just below the sharply carinated shoulders, a frieze containing three rose sprays, evenly spaced, working in fairly high relief. The coffee pot's arched handle with ivory insulators. Both items in slightly used condition, and are otherwise choice and problem free. Each stamped "L. Maciel," with sterling and Mexico designations, with the creamer numbered 5660-6, and the coffee pot, 10387-7. Height of coffee pot: 10-1/2". Both pieces total over 40 oz. of Sterling silver. Lot 1079		A Sterling Flatware Service by Towle. United States, c. 1930's and later. To accompany thepreceding serving dish, a fine, robust set of sterling forks and spoons, and more -- also Louis XIV pattern (patented 1924). This set appears to be one that was built up over a number of years, and includes obviously older, along with newer examples of this pattern. However, the pattern seems to have been discontinued some time ago. The Louis XIV design shows much more delicacy and restraint than one would expect, yet without losing the intricacy and sense of richness that attaches to the idea of "French-style cutlery." The pattern displays borders of minute linked flowers and leaves, with a dramatic floral swag here and there, the whole balanced by the geometric angles of the handle. This set has place settings for 12, and include: demitasse, boullion, cream soup, ice, tea, and fruit spoons. Plus, relish, salad, lunch, dinner, and ice cream(?) forks; not to mention dinner and butter knives. Rounding out the group are a large and a small "serving knife," a cold cut prong, sugar tongs, a large serving fork, six large serving spoons, a ladle, and a deep-bowled spoon, and sterling-handled knife sharpener. Th oldest items in this set are the two pair of salt and pepper shakers. All handles are monogramed with an antique "S" of consistent style. The shakers with the same "S," but earlier in style, along with the added letters "E" and "A." Some of the older pieces show some wear to the handles, while most of the set evidences light to little use. The sharpener,and the dinner and serving knives with steel or stainless blades, while all the rest are wholly sterling. Total weight, excluding the afore mentioned knives and sharpener, of at least 161 oz. of Sterling silver. Comparing prices charged for replacement pieces of this pattern, costs for the above thirteen-piece setting ranges from about $375 to $500 per setting. Lot 1080		Group of Vintage Sterling Flatware. Mostly United States, c. 1900-1925. Includes a variety of serving shapes and utensils, in attractive and ornate patterns. Several of the ladles and spoons, plus one fork, have gilt bowls, with two pierced for straining. Lot includes 22 pieces (including 2 sugar tongs), totaling at least 17 oz. of Sterling Silver. All but six pieces are monogramed, with two dated with "1901." All show gentle use. Worth a close look. Some fun stuff here. Estimated Value $125 - 175. View details	Realized $207
Lot 1081		Sterling Silver Chafing Dish by Towle. United States, c. 1920's - 30's. Louis XIV pattern, patented Dec. 23, 1919. The broad, shallow, footed dish with unusual wide, down sloping, octagonal scalloped rim, giving the impression that dish is draped with a finely embroidered cloth. The rim bordered with two rows of intricate patterns -- a twined and twisted border with floral centers, and form of plaque and links, also with floral centers. Above these, and spaced out evenly at eight intervals are floral cartouches with rose and pansy sprays. Base of dish marked with Towle insignia, "Sterling," and the number, 3822. Opposite is pattern and patent information, and lightly inscribed, "S12-283." The lid for the dish is in openwork, engraved with floral and geometric designs, with sterling plated knob shaped as a floral bouquet. Lid stamped "Nickel Alloy, FF6," and also lightly inscribed, "S12-283." Dish show moderate but careful wear, with delicate toning. Diameter: 13-1/2". Weight of Dish: over 28 oz. Lot 1082		Sterling Flatware by Gorham, Chantilly Pattern. United States, c. 1970. This set has basic place settings for 8, and includes: demitasse, boullion or cream soup, and teaspoons. Plus relish, salad, lunch, and dinner forks; along with dinner and butter knives. Of these, additional pieces are to be had of the knives, along with the large and salad forks, the teaspoons and demitasse spoons. Rounding out the group are a large and a small "serving knifes," two small cold cut or relish prongs, sugar tongs, 2 large serving forks, various serving spoons and ladles, and sterling-handled knife sharpener and two carving sets. The carvers, dinner, butter and serving knives with stainless blades and hollow ware handles. Total weight, excluding the hollow ware pieces of at least 92 oz. of Sterling silver, with well over 115 pieces. Comparing prices charged for replacement pieces of this pattern, costs for the above eight-piece setting ranges about $250 per setting. The set essentially mint, showing little if any actual use. As a bonus, a pair of large salad serving spoon and fork by "MC," and another by Reed & Barton (both pairs in silverplate) are tossed in. An attractive pattern, with a good heft to the individual pieces, the successful bidder can augment his purchase as needed, since the pattern is still available. Estimated Value $1,250 - 1,350. First made in 1895, Chantilly is the most popular sterling silverware pattern of the 20th Century. It is still in production and is comprised of innumerable pieces. Lot 1083		Magnificent Towle Louis XIV Sterling Silver Tea Set. This magnificent tea set includes a coffee pot, tea pot, creamer, covered sugar bowl, waste bowl and tray. The delicate beading around the top and base of each piece is the distinctive Louis XIV pattern. The beautiful workmanship that went into the making of this set is also apparent in the finials on the coffee pot, tea pot and covered sugar bowl. The waste bowl and creamer both feature a beautiful gold wash interior. Each serving piece numbered 62162, tray numbered 76160. Note: each serving piece has a lightly engraved monogram E.A.S.
