Lot Photo Description Realized
Lot 1146
1853 U.S. Assay Office $20 Gold, 900 THOUS. NGC graded MS-62. Here is a sharply struck coin that has satiny gold luster throughout and clean surfaces for the grade. No troubling weakness to be found, and the surfaces are quite delightful. Rare thus, and NGC has graded only 28 this high, with 11 in the MS-63 category, and at the top we note 7 as MS-64 by that service. A popular and early design for the Territorial issues, this one is certain to please the specialist. In NGC holder #111649-001.
Estimated Value $10,000-UP.

Lot 1147
1853, BG-530, R-4. Octagonal Liberty Dollar. PCGS graded MS-62. Well struck and lustrous, with a few minor hairlines which account for the grade. PCGS has graded 27 of this variety as MS-62, with 10 graded higher. A great choice for a type coin, as this date is fairly available in this and lower grades.
Estimated Value $500 - 600.
