Lot 634
1883-S Morgan Dollar. PCGS graded MS-64 Premium Quality. Truly an impressive Morgan dollar that boasts rich green, blue and gold toning on both sides over frosty luster. The strike is sharp and the surfaces are very nice for the grade. We note this one has been housed in a coin album for many years when it came to us recently for auction. PCGS has graded 231 this high, but importantly only 15 higher! Don't expect a better one unless you have an awful lot of money to spend.

Lot 640
1884-S Morgan Dollar. PCGS graded AU-53. A coin that barely circulated as it retains almost all of the original mint luster and is now ringed with a light splash of gold at the periphery. Sharp, and about as nice as this date is ever found, as virtually the entire mintage entered circulation at least for a time. PCGS has graded a total of 164 in various mint state grades of this date, compared with many bags of mint state grades of most other dates.

Lot 644
1885-O Morgan Dollar. NGC graded MS-63. If you want in intensely toned Morgan, but don't have to have a near perfect gem, then here is the coin for you. Frankly, there aren't many ticks on this coin and given the generally clean cheek on Liberty it could have graded higher. Regardless, it's the colors that give this one the premium, and we're certain the rainbow bands of iridescent shades will dazzle your eyes. Light gold on the left obverse, bright reddish gold through Liberty's face, dark red then blue through her head and ear, back to red through her hair and dark gray at the back behind her head.
Estimated Value $700 - 900.

Lot 645
1885-O Morgan Dollar. NGC graded MS-63"*" holder. Another coin that must be seen to be appreciated, with yellow blue and fuchsia predominating in organized bands on the obverse, with splendid luster and satiny surfaces. Typical strike for the year, with minor weakness at the centers. As expected, the reverse is white. Unusually intense colors, which more than offset the moderate grade. Note this coin is in an NGC "*" holder, awarded for high eye appeal.

1887-O Morgan Dollar. 7 over 6. PCGS graded MS-64. A gorgeous yellow green toned obverse here, and more golden on the reverse over luster. Rare in all mint state grades, and this is tied for the finest graded by PCGS, in fact, only 44 have been graded this high, and naturally, none are graded higher! The strike is pretty typical for this date, slightly weak at the centers on the hair over Liberty's ear and on the eagle's breast, but sharp elsewhere. After careful examination of the surfaces, we feel this coin is very high end for the grade, as only faint signs of contact can be found. The overdate feature is seen as a thin line extending off to the right from the 7 in the date.
Estimated Value $5,000-UP.

The obverse is toned with a huge splash of aqua green near Liberty's face which quickly changes to intense reddish gold, and fades to lighter gold as the colors slide across the obverse, the reverse white save for a ring of gold at the periphery. Particularly bold colors here, and will no doubt require a particularly bold bid to capture this prize.
