Lot 565
1854. Pattern Large Cent. Judd-160. Copper, plain edge. Rarity-4. NGC graded Proof 65. Brown. A beautiful coin with the clean obverse design of the head of Liberty, without stars surrounding, and the date below. The reverse has a delicate wreath with smaller letter punches used. An excellent ensemble. Seldom found better, and rarely found this nice.

1860 Transitional Half Dime. Judd 267, Silver, Rarity 4 (100 minted). PCGS graded MS-64. A very choice example of this highly collectible Transitional issue. The surfaces show the light field striations as seen on all genuine examples and are otherwise mark-free. The unbroken lustre is satiny and overlaid with light violet, deepening to the outside borders. This little treasure should attract considerable bidder interest.

1869 Pattern Half Dollar. Judd 752, Rarity 6, Aluminum. NGC graded Proof 67. A perfectly executed example and absolutely pristine in every way; ie, strike, color, brilliance. As of cataloging, PCGS has graded 4 examples (All Proof-64) and NGC just this one. We are probably quite safe in calling this the finest to exist.

Lot 576
1870. Pattern Quarter Dollar, Judd-879. Standard Silver. Copper, plain edge. Rarity-6. NGC graded Proof 66. Brown. Clearly the Finest Known of this issue as neither PCGS nor NGC has graded any J-879s above Proof 65 aside from this coin. Deeply toned with dark chocolate fields that show some hints of rose on the devices. Pristine surfaces, without a mark to be found, and very sharply, almost painfully, well struck. Worthy of the finest Pattern collection.

1873 Pattern Trade Dollar. Judd 1322, Rarity 5, Silver. NGC graded Proof 66. An exquisite gem example of this beautiful design; a combination of the regular adopted obverse with a small eagle reverse. This stunning coin has impressive iridescent violet toning evenly dispersed across the surfaces of both sides. Although NGC has graded a total of 15, this stands at the pinnacle as the highest graded to date.
