France. 1806 Napoleonic Medal, Masonic Interest. Napoleon I, 1799-1815. Silver, oval shape, 66mm x 57mm, 56.6 grams. On the Foundation of the Masonic Lodge "Napoleon The Great" on August 27, 1806, and presented by Marmande to the founding members. Obverse: Laureate head right of Napoleon within laurel wreath, reverse: Beautifully hand engraved five line inscription within wreath, with the All Seeing Eye above. Choice Extremely Fine with the original integral fluted loop as made for wearing about the neck on a cord or ribbon, and handsomely toned in light multi-color iridescence. Among the earliest and most important Masonic medals and certainly one of the most elusive in the Napoleonic series. Extremely Rare and desirable.
