Judaea. Lot of AE's & Oil Lamp. A little group of items found in Israel. The coins mostly small serrated AE's of Antiochos IV, plus a couple of late Roman AE 3 - 4's. Along with these, a quite nice Byzantine-era oil lamp in brown terra cotta, with foliate and geometric decoration. Lastly a small "gem" in aqua-colored glass. Inspection suggested. A fun lot for the novice Biblical collector. Lot of 10 pieces. Coins range from Good to Very Fine.

Persian Bronze Shabbat Lamp, c. Late 18th Century. The lamp is approximately 8½" high, 22" from the top of the hook to the bottom of the base; the diameter of the widest part is 6". The lamp is made up of three tiers: two peacoks sit atop the first tier; the second tier is a tray with holders for seven wicks, and the third tier is an overflow tray for the wax from the wicks. A decorative bronze chain with a hook is attached to the top of the lamp. A wonderful, antique shabbat lamp.
