Lot 1158
1902, $20 National Bank Note. Fr-659. A total of 22 state issue notes and 3 territorials on this large-size only bank. Scarce! PCGS graded Fine 12.

Trivia: Muskogee began construction of underground sewer collection lines in 1904 before statehood when the population of the city was 7,000. The people voted at that time $200,000 for this work. The city was fairly well covered in three areas with outfalls and laterals, and now, a full 101 years later, the 38,310 residents of Muskogee enjoy confident flushes 365 days a year, with an extra flush every fourth year for February 29th Leap Year. The Commercial National Bank was chartered November 25, 1919.
Estimated Value $300 - 400.

Scotch-Irish settlers established farms in the Biglerville area before 1740, followed later by German families which stimulated agriculture practices. 1902, $20 National Bank Note. Fr-656. Only 7 large size reported on this bank, with this the nicest $20 large size in the census. Faint, barely discernible signatures of the two bank officers; since the federal signatures (Napier and Burke, in this instance) are engraved on the bank note plate and not hand-signed or stamped with a rubber stamp, these always appear. But often the bank cashier's and president's signatures fade with time or are washed out from actual immersion of the note in water. Scarce. PCGS graded Very Fine 25PPQ.
