Lot 1015
1882, $10 National Bank Note. Fr-487. The Series of 1882 Brown Backs were issued well into the 1920s in spite of their supposed series year. This group fell under the second bank charter period, which ran from 1882 to 1902, so that any bank formed in, say, 1899, could still be issuing notes of this type in 1919, twenty years later. Normal wear and scuffs for the grade. PCGS graded Good 06.

Lot 1038
1902, $5 National Bank Note. Fr-609. Somewhat improper cutting with a portion of the note above visible and into the lower margin -- these national bank notes were shipped from the Bureau of Engraving and Printing as uncut sheets to the various issuing banks. It was the bank personnel who cut the sheets into notes, sometimes with this result! This Lebanon bank has fewer than two dozen large size notes reported and is therefore scarce.
